Think you've got it bad?

Sometimes we really don't know just how good we have it. We think our lives suck and things just aren't fair.....well you know really don't know just how good you do have it.

A very good friend of mine is serving in a branch of our military and is on deployment right now. He has left his wife and two kids for the second time in less than 24 months to serve our country and protect our freedoms.

No one really wants to talk about it, but times are still very tough for our troops in the Middle East. To be honest, it scares the crap out of know what he and others are facing on a daily basis. He posted this just the other day on facebook and it really hit home....brought tears to my eyes and really made me think

Today was the day everything hit me. I was at the ER and a young Marine who works with me was just blown up. He was rushed through. Broken foot in 3 places, badly bruised eye. We told him he was going home. And he began to cry, his right eye actually bled when he cried. He cried because he felt he was letting his fellow Marines down. Not because he was hurt but becasue he felt he was letting us down. As I walked out I looked over and there I saw a nurse holding a little baby screaming it's leg was gone there family bus hit an IED. You normally tell yourself its the job but today I took it home.
Friends, I ask you....please take time to stop and pray and say thanks...thanks for all that you do have and stop to remember that not everyone is as lucky as you are.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Boy does time fly! How the heck did we get to the end of 2011 so quickly?

I guess it really is true that the older we get, the faster time goes.

2011 has held so many changes for me, not all good and not all bad....but I can honestly say that I am ready for 2012....ready to see what 2012 has in store for us.

These days it seems like all I do is work....I get up and go to work, come home and work some more....somewhere in between I fit in school work, grocery shopping, etc. I guess that is how time flies

I haven't really had time to visit friends and family members like I should. This makes me sad. So as luck would have it, I ended up with 5 days in a row off from work during Christmas. So I spent time with my children, my grandmother, my mom and step-dad, and I even drove down to spend a day with my dad and step-mom. All in all.....I'd say if has been a good Christmas vacation. =)

Happy Veteran's Day

Let me start by saying that I am not sure why we say "Happy" Veterans doesn't really fit the occasion but I guess the point gets across.

I do want to take time and say thanks....thanks to all those whom have served this great country of ours, thanks to all those whom are still serving our country proud.

If it weren't for these individuals think of all the things we do on a daily basis that we otherwise would be able to do.

Today also makes me think about my best friend and her husband. He is serving in the Marine Corps and they have been stationed in Japan for almost 3 years now. He just left this week on his second deployment in less than a year and a half. I pray daily for his safety. I pray daily for her sanity. I cannot imagine living on the opposite side of the world from my family and closets friends....basically her support system....and going through another deployment with their two kids. She's a hero in my mind.

So my friends as you are out and about today taking advantage of all the sales and offers that go along with Veteran's Day and 11-11-11.....please take a moment and recognize those that have made and are still making these days we enjoy possible. Pray for them and their loved ones.

Welcome to These Are The Days.

My name is Ann, and I will be your blog hostess.

I am not new to the blogging world but I have been MIA for a bit. I had another blog and met a lot of wonderful people but I got to where I just didn't have the time to post to it, then when I would find time, I just didn't want to post to it. I think maybe I outgrew my other blog....maybe. Plus my other blog got to be more of a mommy blog and I really want somewhere that I can write about more than just my life as a mommy and wife....those are just two aspects of my life...I want to feel free to write about all this brings us to......These Are The Days.

I chose this name because....well....these are the days....the days of our lives (as we've all, the days we are going to miss....the days we are gonna want to remember.

So now for the introduction....

As I said before, my name is Ann and I am a mom to four and a wife to one. I work full time outside the home, go to school {almost} full time. My name will be the only real name I use in this blog....I will be changing the names of others I write about in order to protect the innocent {hee hee}. I am a country girl.....born and bred on a farm.....some would call me a redneck but I tend to disagree....although I can break out the redneck in me when need be. =) I have a Southern accent and conservative views but do NOT take that to mean that I am stupid or ignorant because I am neither but I will say "Bless your heart" when the situation calls for it. I look forward to sharing what stays in my brain on this blog and if you feel like following, great....if you want to leave a comment, even better!

Thanks for stopping by!
